American Regis Prograis (27-1, 23 KO's) floored and stopped in 6 rounds Irishman “The Mighty Celt” Tyrone McKenna in their WBC 140-pound Eliminator Saturday evening in Dubai.

With the win, the skilled Prograis becomes the mandatory challenger to the WBC Super Lightweight World title, currently owned by unified 140 King Josh Taylor (19-0, 13 KO’s).

It was a riveting, flawless performance for Prograis who knocked down the taller McKenna in the second chapter.

But the strong “Mighty Celt” from Belfast rose up on his feet to keep on fighting.

Five chapters later, a cut on McKenna's right eye prompted the physician to advise the stoppage in round 6.

The game McKenna ended the war cut and bruised, but proving his gallantry and bravery, winning fans.

As for Prograis, hopefully, fans will see the Texas native fighting for a world title later this year.

The WBC 140 Eliminator was the co-feature to the main event headlined by the IBF 112 world title win of Sunny Edwards over Muhammad Wassem in a very fine evening of boxing in Dubai promoted by Probellum.
