In his first trip outside of his beloved Philippines, unbeaten Cotabato del Norte warrior Jayson "Striker" Vayson (9-0-1, 5 KO's), will wage the most important battle of his life when he clashes against experienced Indonesian former world-title challenger Tibo Monabesa (21-1-2, 8 KO's) for the Indonesian’s WBC International Light Flyweight strap, as well as a place in the WBC-108 world rankings.
The Montesa vs Vayson WBC 10-rounder fight would take place if the undefeated Filipino gets government’s approval to travel.
The exciting rumble is intended to unfold on Sunday, February 27, as the evening's star attraction at the flashy, fancy and new nightclub Holywings Gatsu Club V in South Jakarta City, Indonesia.
Can the younger Vayson get the solid win in Monabesa’s home country?
Can he strike a thrilling knockout win?
His fans, family, friends and stablemates say yes! a reason for which the brave, 100% focused "Striker" Vayson - born in the Dakbayan sa Bayugan in Agusan del Sur - intensifies training even harder under the guidance of veteran coach Allan Alegria, 57, the trainer, former RP national champ who would travel with him to awesome Jakarta. 👍
Ranked #3 Light Flyweight by the WBC, the 31-year-old Indonesian Tibo Monabesa has bested almost every Pinoy boxer that he has faced in his 10-year pro boxing career, only Arnold Garde got away with a technical draw, although Garde was down in the 3 scorecards.
Monabesa wants Jayson Vayson to be his next scalp.
Will he dominate the Pinoy?
Or will it be the other way around: Jayson giving Tibo Monabesa one heck of a storm of leather, prescribing the Indonesian with the biggest shock of his life, landing all over him as a big wind, ravaging and brutalizing him really rough, will that happen?
Boxing fans in Mindanao say yes, it can happen, calling the undefeated Jason Vayson "Striker" for a reason.
So let's find out what will unfold on fight night half month away in that plush Jakarta nightclub.
As mentioned above, Tibo Monabesa has defeated a number of Filipino fighters who have traveled to Indonesia to trade bombs against him, the most recent victim: Toto Landero last August.
Monabesa decisioned Landero in a 12-rounder battle to claim the vacant WBC-108 International belt, being his coming clash against Jayson Vayson his first title defense.
Born in the beautiful green hills of Oelbubuk in Indonesia's southernmost province of East Nusa Tenggara, Tibo Monabesa has fought 23 of his 24 battles in his beloved native homeland.
The only one time that he ventured out was to Japan to clash against unbeaten Japanese WBA World Champion Hiroto Kyoguchi (15-0, 10 KO's).
Kyoguchi steamed and vaporized Monabesa in four chapters three years ago in Tokyo.
However, that rough punishment that Kyoguchi inflicted on him hasn’t altered Monabesa’s golden dreams of becoming a world champion.
Because after conquering the WBC Light Flyweight International Belt last August, Monabesa just can’t stop thinking about the new WBC Light Flyweight World Champion Japanese slugger Masamichi Yabuki (13-3, 12 KO's).
The hard-hitting Yabuki, 29, became the WBC world champion after amazing "The Amazing Boy" Kenshiro Teraji (18-1, 10 KO's) in 10 action rounds last September.
Yabuki stopping Kenshiro was an unexpected result that not many fans thought possible.
Yet, Yabuki pulled it off, violently ending the flashy reign of the popular Kenshiro, placing himself in as the division's new king.
Nevertheless, Kenshiro is still the WBC # 1 Light Flyweight with many fans in Japan and the world craving for the Kenshiro vs Yabuki rematch to happen.
Will the Yabuki vs Kenshiro rematch happen?
Meanwhile, Monabesa would really love a shot at Yabuki, thinking that he can outsmart the new champ, believing 100% that Yabuki is no way as good as Hiroto Kyoguchi. Many fans agree with that.
Monabesa has golden dreams, indeed yes.
But standing in front of him on February 27 will be Jayson Vayson, the soft-spoken Filipino with dreams and plans of his own.
Does the younger Jayson Vayson have the set of fighting skills needed to defeat the more-experienced Tibo Monabesa in his own backyard before his cheering compatriots and with Indonesian judges to rip apart his golden dreams?
Does Jayson really need to completely rock down, ravage and disassemble Monabesa to claim victory... because by points no way?
Will the confident bigger Tibo Monabesa be too strong, too complicated and too accomplished for Jayson Vayson, the young Filipino 108-pounder willing to get a solid win for a fantastic, huge boost to his boxing career?
Monabesa vs Vayson for the WBC International Light Flyweight Title is produced by Armin Tan Tagore Promotions in association with Probellum and Holywings, live in Indonesia on NET. Televisi Masa Kini.
