After the exciting knockout wins over Thai fighters in his last two battles in Thailand, Filipino 115-pound warrior Adrian "Nunoy" Lerasan (10-4, 3 KO's), has been invited back to the Land of Smiles for another hot rumble against yet another strong Thai boxer, wanting a shot at the hard-hitting Pinoy combatant born in Antipolo City, Rizal.
For this coming battle, the 22-year-old Adrian Lerasan is slated to collide against the young, fast 'n furious Phongsaphon Panyakum (12-1, 6 KO's) for Panyakum's WBC Asia Super Flyweight Strap in a televised main-event clash scheduled for Saturday, February 26, in Thailand's capital, Bangkok.
A hard-swinging southpaw whirlwind, Adrian Lerasan gets into this impending 10-round war after knockout victories over Thai fighters Tanes Ongjunta (9-1, 4 KO's) whom Adrian ravaged in eight rounds and Suradech Ruhasiri (6-5, 5 KO's) whom Lerasan overpowered in five chapters.
Will the next Thai boxer in line, Phongsaphon Panyakum suffer the same rough, crushing fate?
He doesn't want that.
A stablemate of former WBC world champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, the 21-year-old Phongsaphon Panyakum does not intend to be obliterated by the brutal fists of the Filipino Lerasan, who has been pro fighter for over 5 years. Instead, he wants to be the one to emerge victorious.
That's why the Thai Panyakum keeps on strenuously training, jogging and sparring, guided by trainer Chokchai "Pop" and his yellow & red M-150 team of coaches and handlers from Nakornloung Boxing Promotions, the well-known, well-established Thai boxing outfit based in Nonthaburi, owned by veteran Thai promoter Surachart "Sia Hui" Pisitwuttinan.
Will Panyakum preparations be enough?
Adrian Lerasan is confident of another victory in the Kingdom of Thailand.
Adrian Lerasan, the young Filipino warrior of proven indomitable spirit, will be accompanied in his third trip to Thailand by his experienced trainer Richard Jun Garcia, the former featherweight boxer born 37 years ago in the Lungsod sa Malungon in Sarangani Province.
During his 16 years as a pro fighter, coach Garcia climbed the ring 57 times, always showing determination and heart. His experience in boxing is priceless for the young Adrian Lerasan.
That's why, as of now, the Lerasan-Garcia team keeps on sweating and preparing for the fast-approaching fight, which is just about 4 weeks away.
And, with his 23rd birthday arriving on January 31, Adrian intensifies his training with even more determination and spirit, 100% focused on his goal of giving to himself the precious gift of the green, shining, brand-new WBC Asian Super Flyweight Belt.
Could Adrian Lerasan pull off a third consecutive thrilling knockout win in the Kingdom of Thailand, which could probably be a feat that no other Filipino boxer has done before?
Or... will it be the Thai WBC Asian champion Phongsaphon Panyakum the one to prevail, retaining his belt with a triumph over the brave, dangerous Pinoy warrior?
Come February 26, we'll find out. You know Philboxing will keep you posted.
Adrian Lerasan vs Phongsaphon Panyakum for the WBC Asia Super Flyweight Title on February 26 is a production of Nakornloung Promotions, live in Thailand on Workpoint TV.
May the Best Man Win!
