In a battle of unbeaten 130-pound warriors, Filipino "Demolition Man" Jenel Lausa is all systems go for his tough battle against former Cuban amateur standout Jadier Herrera for the vacant WBA Asia South Super Featherweight Strap Saturday, February 26, at the Marina in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
A victory in “The City of Gold” Dubai could propel the Iloilo-native to more thrilling and rewarding missions later in the year. Can he pull off the win?
The clash is also Jenel Lausa's first fight outside of his native Philippines.
With stakes so high, the fight is the perfect stage for Jenel to showcase his fighting spirit and caliber... and a win being a boost to his career.
But even though Jenel Lausa (10-0-1, 6 KO's), has kept himself in the gym, training and sweating, he hasn't climbed the boxing ring since his last combat in Digos City, Davao del Sur, in September of 2019.
In that clash nearly two and half years ago, Lausa repeatedly floored and subsequently stopped in five chapters brave East Timor journeyman Carlos Lopez (28-11, 8 KO's).

Demolition Man Jenel Lausa of Iloilo is set to see hot action against hot Cuban rookie Jadier Herrera in WBA Asian belt Feb 26 in Dubai.
However, we can all be 100% sure that the Cuban is far more skilled than the unheralded East Timor boxer.
In fact, Herrera might be the toughest, most difficult foe whom Jenel has ever faced so far in his 7-year pro boxing career.
That's why Lausa needs to be in the very best shape of his life, ready to execute his A game.
But fans worry if ring-rust could affect Jenel Lausa on fight night?
Because in sharp contrast, his opponent Herrera has kept himself super busy in complete and constant fighting mode, being far more active than the tough Pinoy súper feather.
Point in case: during the last year 2021, the 19-year-old Jadier Herrera (5-0, 5 KO's), born in the beautiful Camaguey in Central Cuba, fought intense amateur and pro clashes.
Early in 2021, he competed in the 60 kilos weight-class at the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships in Kielce, Poland, during April, making it to the quarter finals.
Herrera did not win any medal in those April 2021 championships in Poland, but learned valuable fighting experience.
Then last July he turned pro, kicking off his professional career in the spectacular city of Dubai, where he is currently living, training and fighting, handled by promoter Phuc An Nguyen.
As a result, during the last 6 months Jadier Herrera has fought 5 times, winning all those wars by way of knock out, including a round four stoppage win over veteran Iligan City warrior Eduardo Mancito (18-13-2, 9 KO's).
Therefore, will the much more active, as well as taller Cuban Jadier Herrera overwhelm and dominate the tough Filipino "Demolition Man" Jenel Lausa?
Or will the undefeated, strong, fast ‘n furious Jenel Lausa brilliantly shock, rock and disassemble the younger Cuban, prescribing him his first painful defeat?
This interesting collision of Jenel "Demolition Man" Lausa of the Philippines vs Jadier Herrera of Cuba is the co-feature for the international card in Dubai headlined by heavy-puncher Pinoy bantamweight Vincent "Asero" Astrolabio (16-3, 12 KO'd) of the MP Davao Gym trading bombs against Cuban former champ Guillermo "El Chacal" Rigondeaux (20-2, 13 KO's) for the WBC International 118-pound diadem.
Best of luck to Vincent Astrolabio and Jenel Lausa in their title fights in Dubai.
