In impressive fashion, 42-year-old Cuban veteran Luis "King Kong" Ortiz rose up from two visits to the floor to score an electrifying 6th round knockout win over game "Prince" Charles Martin tonight at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, on PBC's New Year's Day show live on FOX Sports and FOX PPV.
Ahead on all 3 scorecards from flooring Ortiz, the former titlist "Prince" Charles Martin (28-3-1, 25 KO's), dared to lower his guard for a second for the big 6'4", 243-lbs power-warrior from Camaguey, Cuba, BAM!! hammer his jaw with a monstrous right bomb that basically knocked him out standing; for another furious thunder to rock the "Prince" down and damaged to the Seminole's blue floor.
Ortiz throws bombs at Martin.
“Prince” Martin bravely managed to regain the vertical. But just to find himself at the receiving end of another barrage of lethal artillery, an indeed risky predicament that forced veteran Florida third man Frank Santore Jr. to waive the war off at the 1 minute 37 seconds mark for a round 6 TKO win in favor of the fearsome "King Kong," who was inspired tonight by the presence of his three little children watching him from ringside.
Tonight's New Year's Day fantastic victory might have opened a golden door for the hard-swinging "King Kong" Ortiz (33-2, 28 KO's) to be considered for another shot at the heavyweight world title. I think "King Kong" deserves it.

ROMERO DUNO GETS KNOCKED OUT AGAIN
Earlier in the evening, Filipino lightweight "Ruthless" Romero Duno (24-3, 19 KO's) of the beautiful Ingud nu Kutawatu in Maguindanao Province, was unfortunately roughed up and knocked out by the 26-year-old American "Ghost" Frank Martin (15-0, 11 KO's) in four rounds of trouble.
Sadly, "The Ghost" Frank Martin bested and outclassed Duno in every chapter.
But the part uncovered itself in the 4th stanza when Martin's fast 'n furious fists were let go all-out on the Maguindanao warrior, damaging him really tough, just as hitting him with solid concrete, hammering Duno down 2 times to the canvas in that agonizing chapter, which was a reminiscent of Duno’s suffocating predicament against Mexican-American Ryan García.
The end to Duno's severe punishment finally came at the 2 minutes fifty-four seconds mark in round 4.
With his thrilling knockout win, the victorious "Ghost" Frank Martin might have earned a golden shot at the hot lightweight world title in 2022.
Martin is eventually heading back to Dallas, Texas, to keep on training alongside his stablemate unbeaten WBC/IBF welterweight world champion Errol Spence Jr.
As for the brave Romero Duno, he might now want to take a time to rest, regroup and strategize with his team the best course of action for his boxing career because his many followers feel that can rose from defeat.
One setback is not the end of the world. True warriors come back from a tough night with a win!
