Mindanao's 122-pound warrior Marlon Tapales (35-2, 18 KO's) of Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte, Philippines, ravaged and disassembled experienced Japanese fighter Hiroaki Teshigawara 勅使河原弘晶 (22-3-2, 15 KO's) of Tokyo for a sensational round 2 knockout win Saturday night (Dec 11) in Carson, Calif, in one of the supporting attractions for the Donaire vs Gaballo rumble for WBC Bantamweight Belt.

Devastating and powerful Tapales rocked the favorite Nippon Teshigawara down to the canvas twice throughout the short-lived clash: once in round one.. and rock him again in chapter 2 with count waived by top California referee Jack Reiss.

Official time of stoppage was at the 6 seconds mark in round two.

Fantastic, fast and furious win for Marlon Tapales, the 29-year-old southpaw also known in the Philippines as "The Maranding Nightmare."

Tonight, Tapales indeed caused a horrific nightmare of leather to his Japanese foe, a victory that positions the Pinoy with possibilities of a super bantamweight world title shot in the USA in 2022. Lets hope so!

Good work Tapales!
