INSTANT CLASSIC: FURY STOPS WILDER IN 11

In a gripping and thrilling fight, probably a fight that will go down as one of the greatest heavyweight fights in history, Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder each showed indomitable will to win with five knockdowns scored in the fight but in the end the Gypsy King retained his crown as he finally put a halt to Wilder's fighting heart with a hard right to the head in the 11th round and retained his WBC and Ring title at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas Saturday night (Sunday in Manila).
Wilder came out firing from the get go, throwing jabs at Fury's body, making true his promise that he had more arsenal to show off in the third fight than just his vaunted right hand. Fury was backing up the whole round but he connected with a couple of good punches as the round ended.
Fury seemed to have figured out Wilder in the second round as he connected with a couple of hard shots to Wilder's head and kept on backing Wilder the entire round.
A furious exchange erupted in the third round where Fury came on top as he dropped Wilder for the first knockdown of the night. Wilder survives the round.
Building on his success from the previous round, Fury stalked Wilder and connected with combinations to the head of Wilder who appeared tired. Another combo by Fury drove Wilder to the corner but a right hand counter by Wilder dropped Fury! What appeared to re-run of their second encounter had now completely turned in an entirely new script. As Fury got up, they brawled. A Wilder left dropped Fury for the second time! Fury appeared hurt and suddenly the fight's outcome is now totally unpredictable.
It's now Wilder's turn to take the offensive in round five. He throws his right with bad intention but Fury stood his ground that resulted in furious exchanges. The fight so far has turned into an instant classic.
The fight has now transformed into a war of attrition as both fighters dug deep and tried to impose his will on the other. Fury, who has reach advantage appeared got the better of the exchanges as the fight progressed.
From the eight round onwards Fury, who now appeared to get his second wind and moving very well, was in control of the fight. Wilder was on survival mode and gassed but is still very dangerous.
Fury continued to pour in into Wilder but you have to give it to the American who just refused to quit. Fury dropped Wilder in round 10 for the second time, beat the count, and is now throwing punches by instinct.
Fury finally ended Wilder's night with a big right to the head at 1:10 in round 11. Veteran referee Russel Mora waved off his hands even before Wilder landed on the canvas. Although beaten and overpowered by Fury, Wilder saved his reputation and earned the admiration from the crowd with his never-say-die attitude.
Fury now stands alone as the acknowledged king of the heavyweights. Although Ukraine's Oleksandr Usyk holds three belts of the division, he will be treated as a pretender to the throne if and when he faces the Gypsy King.
