Sanchez (L) attacks Ajagba.
In the battle of two rising undefeated heavyweights, Frank Sanchez of Cuba outpointed Efe Ajagba of Nigeria over 10 rounds to capture the WBC Continental Americas and WBO NABO heavyweight titles in the main supporting event of the Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder III WBC heavyweight championship at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas Saturday night (Sunday in Manila).
Sanchez, The Cuban Flash, used his patented speed to control the fight and to neutralize Ajagba's powerful right hand. An explosive combination by Sanchez put Ajagba down in the 7th round.
Judges' scores: Lisa Giampa 91-98, John McKaie 92-97 and David Sutherland 91-98 all in favor of Sanchez.
Sanchez remains undefeated at 19 wins with 13 inside the distance while Ajagba absorbed his first defeat and dropped to 15-10, 12KOs.
