Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez decidedly outclassed, tormented and defeated British champ Callum Smith via 12-round unanimous decision to claim the WBA/WBC Super Middleweight world titles today at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

Canelo (54-1-2, 36 KO’s) was off the charts, completely impressive, fast and in control through the exciting battle, throwing bombs at the Briton WBSS winner, punishing him with crushing right uppercuts and rough combinations to the head and body.

During the DAZN post-fight interview, the Mexican said that at 168 he feels better and stronger, adding that his triumph over the game 6’3” Smith is one of the best wins in his career.

Canelo, 30, also commented that he wants to unify all the super middleweight world titles and reaffirming that he would fight Golovkin again for fans.

“I do not run from any fighter, and I am proud of always fighting the very best,” assured the impressive Canelo.

The Mexican wished Merry Christmas to boxing fans, promising that the best of him is yet to come.
