Undefeated rising heavyweight Frank Sanchez of Las Vegas via Guantanamo Cuba knocked Julian Fernandez of Tijuana out of the ropes in the 7th round to retain his WBO NABO heavyweight title on the undercard of the Canelo-Smith WBC/WBA super middleweight unified championship at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas Saturday night broadcast live on DAZN.

Sanchez's sharp and powerful intent landed with bad intent but Fernandez showed his Mexican pedigree by taking Sanchez's shots well. In the second round Sanchez staggered Fernandez with a left midway in the round and followed it up with a barrage later but Fernandez survived the round.
