IBF middleweight world champion Kazakhstan’s Gennadiy "GGG" Golovkin is set to defend his IBF 160-lbs title against unbeaten challenger Kamil Szeremeta (21-0, 5 KO’s) of Poland today, Friday, Dec 18, at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino - Hollywood, FL.
Both warriors made weight without problems yesterday, Triple G stepping on at 159.25 pounds, while Szeremeta recorded 159.
The 38-year-old Golovkin (40-1-1, 35 KO’s) returns to the ring wanting to make history as he attempts to make a successful 21st defense of the middleweight world title, a division record.
The popular Triple G from Karaganda, Kazakhstan, has worn a world championship belt every year since 2010. Would that be enough to one day get him into the Boxing Hall of Fame?
The interesting clash is Golovkin’s mandatory title defense against the undefeated top-ranked 31-year-old IBF challenger Kamil Szeremeta (21-0, 5 KO’s) from Biaylstok, Poland.
While the Poland challenger does not seem to have much TNT in his blows, Golovkin can really detonate savage raw power.
The firestorm that Triple G can unleash in the ring has been fearsome and devastating thru the years, same as his coming-forward, fan-friendly, aggressive fighting style, always battling to stop his opponents in a “Big Drama Show,”
Will Golovkin deliver “Big Drama” later today in Florida?
Golovkin is looking to fight Canelo for the third time.
Should Triple G win in spectacular fashion, his changes of getting in the ring for a 3rd time against Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez increases notably.
As fans know, battling Canelo is what Golovkin really wants. Will he get it in 2021?
The Golovkin vs Szeremeta rumble is promoted by Tom Loeffler and Eddie Hearn live worldwide on DAZN.
May the Best Man Win! 👍👍
