The Legend of Mexican sports journalism, Doctor Alfonso Morales, died this Thursday at the age of 71, after losing the battle against a kidney deficiency that accompanied him for a long time.

Morales was great in Sports Journalism, mainly in boxing and professional wrestling. He graduated as a psychiatrist from the National Autonomous University of Mexico and was director of the magazine Box and Lucha Libre, as well as a sports reporter in various newspapers in the country among others.

He was a professional boxing and wrestling commentator and storyteller since the early 1970s but it was in the January 1979 Carlos Palomino / Wilfredo Benítez in an fight in San Juan, Puerto Rico that he came to boxing to stay forever.

Since 1980 he entered Boxing Saturdays on Televisa where he said goodbye in 2016 for the health problems that appeared to him.

Over time, Dr. Alfonso Morales became one of the sports legends in Mexico for his incomparable ways of commenting on boxing and wrestling fights and a number of memorable phrases.
