In a hot clash, British unified WBA/IBF/WBO heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua defends his 3 titles against tough Bulgarian mandatory challenger ubrat Pulev tonight, Saturday December 12, at the SSE Arena in London, England.
Both warriors looked in great shape during the official weigh-in yesterday, the champion Joshua making 239 pounds, the challenger Pulev 240; Joshua slightly taller, leaner, standing fast in awesome form, pointing his right index to Pulev’s face, in an attempt to threaten him. But Pulev did not seem intimidated, appearing confident, really strong, reading for war.
This war excites many boxing fans, including me, with the added prospect that if Joshua wins, he will most likely go on to clash against the hugely popular “Gypsy King” Tyson Fury in an all-British clash what would certainly be one of the most anticipated blockbuster rumbles for 2021, the one that I’m so sure you’d love to watch.
8 years younger, Anthony Joshua (23-1, 21 KO’s) returns to the ring against war-hardened veteran Pulev, following a whole year of inactivity after regaining his 3 heavyweight world titles with a super boring snoozing rematch win over Mexican-American Andy Ruiz Jr., in Saudi Arabia.
In addition, it will be Joshua's first fight on British soil in more than 2 years since he stopped powerful Russian Alexander Povetkin (36-2-1, 25 KO’s).
Meanwhile, the experienced Kubrat Pulev (28-1, 14 KO’s) enters the the ring tonight with an outstanding fighting resumé, willing to engage and trade lethal bombs in his 2nd shot at the heavyweight world crown. 🌍

6 years ago, Pulev fell short to the then Ukrainian world champion “Dr. Steelhammer” Wladimir Klitschko (64-5, 53 KO’s) in what has been his one and only loss in pro boxing.
Since then, Kubrat Pulev has had low activity, but has managed to accumulate significant victories, including meaningful wins over Derek Chisora in 2016 and Hughie Fury in 2018, in what was an IBF eliminator match.
Surely, what many boxing fans are thankful is that the unified world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is finally returning to boxing action after being forced to give his career a hiatus because of the logistical complications brought by the ongoing pandemic. (Please, protect yourself and others by always wear your mask 😷)
To many fans, at least on paper, the 39-year-old Kubrat Pulev does not appear to pose such a huge danger to the crown of the British champion due to his relative inactivity and his lack of devastating power punch.

In contrast, Joshua, 31, can really strike hard, is owner of pretty darn good speed, his boxing skills are excellent; he can trade, but now he is careful in doing so, and if in trouble, he knows how to weather the storm by using his physical advantage at a distance.
He learned tons about fighting from a distance scoring enough points to win from his second fight against Ruíz Jr., making him a better fighter. Even if it might have made you fall asleep, but he won his fight (and his millions), and that was his goal. Good for him.
Even so, Hall-of-famer promoter Bob Arum says that Pulev will shock and dethrone Joshua tonight. Will that happen, mi hermano?
Do you agree with the crafty veteran Top Rank boss? Let’s find out if the “Bobfather” was right on this one – or if he just would love to see Eddie Hearn’s diamond fighter losing. Wow, is that so?
Furthermore, many hardcore fight fans ponder Anthony Joshua's jaw. Are you one of them?
Yes, many fans wonder about Joshua’s chin strength, especially after his knockout loss to Andy Ruiz Jr. last year. I’m so sure that you vividly remember that hot fight. Probably you liked it. 🔥
In conclusion, this is a fight that Anthony Joshua should be able to win, and likely will win, setting the stage ready for him finally taking on charismatic unbeaten linear WBC world champion Tyson Fury in a long-awaited unification súper fight. What do you think, mi hermano?
Joshua vs Pulev is promoted by Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing live worldwide 🌎 on DAZN.
May the Best Man Win..!!!
Seconds out. Round one. Let's get ready to rumblehhhhh..!!!! 🔥🔥
