The "Camiguin Tiger," Filipino Jeny Boy Boca is ready for another world-stage battle as he is slated to fight for a regional WBC title in Pakistan.
The 26-year-old Jeny Boy Boca from the sunbathed paradise Island of Camiguin has earned the fantastic opportunity to fight world-ranked former world title challenger Muhammad Waseem (10-1, 7 KO's) for the WBC Flyweight Middle East Belt at the Governor House in Lahore, Pakistan.
The winner not only claims the WBC regional belt, but also a prominent place in the WBC world rankings, inching closer to a possible future shot at the WBC flyweight world crown.
And a future world title shot is what Jeny Boy has been dreaming of during his whole life. However, to earn that, the Filipino first needs to convincingly beat Waseem on December 19. Can he do that?
In preparation for the important mission, Jeny Boy has been training in his native Camiguin together with experienced coaches former fighters Allan Alegria, 56, of Magpet, Cotabato del Norte, and former warrior Abner Llanasa, 34, of Mambajao, Camiguin.

"It's a great chance and a great responsibility. I feel strong," committed Jeny Boy Boca (14-6, 12 KO's), a man who has been waging wars as a pro boxer for 7 years. This indeed could be his big break.
This WBC Middle East title rumble follows Jeny Boy Boca's fantastic knockout win last March in Bangkok, Thailand.
In that fight in Thailand, the underdog Jeny Boy stopped in four hard-fought round the experienced local Thai fighter Sarawut Thawornkham (21-3, 16 KO's), to claim the WBA Asia Flyweight Belt.
Now, Jeny Boy's eyes are on his coming WBC Middle East war against the taller, Muhammad Waseem, a man who challenged tough "Babyface" Moruti Mhtalane (38-2, 26 KO's) two years ago in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
In that blow-by-blow war in Malaysia, Waseem gave the veteran IBF world champion Moruti the toughest ride, going toe-to-toe with him throughout the 12-chapter battle.
I attended this Moruti vs Waseem fight in Malaysia together with my Philboxing.com colleagues Dong Secuya and Dr. Ed de la Vega.
The highlight of the clash came as Waseem unleashed a potent 11th round attack over the South African world champion, dropping him to the canvas, putting his crown in jeopardy.
For a moment, it seems that the fresher Waseem could beat Mthalane. But the tough-as-nails, experienced Mthalane survived the bombardment and ended the battle on his feet, edging Waseem by points.
Yes, Moruti survived Waseem's rough onslaught to outpoint him in a close decision. The Pakistani fighter did not outscore the world champion, but fans were witness of Waseem's toughness. Waseem reasserted that he is hard-to-beat and a force to be reckoned with in the 112-pound division.
That fight also proved to me that Waseem is a fighter of heart, class and battling talent, indeed a tough opponent for the brave and power-punching Pinoy warrior.
But importantly, Jeny Boy Boca who does not worry what has Waseem done before.
What the Camiguin Tiger focuses on is in his own set of fighting skills and his own confidence in himself.
Jeny Boy Boca also trusts his hard-punching prowess, and will climb the ring with the certainty that a victory in Pakistan propels him closer of a world title challenge.
Since Jeny Boy hasn't fought since March, his team has had him in rewarding sparring sessions before his flight to Lahore, Pakistan, this coming Tuesday, December 15. The rumble is four days later on Saturday, December 19.
Highly motivated, with faith in himself and the assistance of his coach and his whole team, Jeny Boy Boca flies to Pakistan with only one thought in mind: victory.
Jeny Boy Boca is ready for Muhammad Wassem for their December 19 fight in Pakistan.
The Muhammad Waseem vs Jeny Boy Boca for the WBC Middleweight Title is a promotion of British-Pakistani former champ Amir Khan, who is the handler of Waseem, in association with MTK Promotions.
The show will be aired live on Pakistan's PTV Sports. Free Links carrying streams of the PTV Sports signal are easily available online.
Could warrior-heart "The Camiguin Tiger" Jenny Boy Boca be able to defeat Muhammad Waseem in his own backyard in Pakistan the same way that he stopped his tough Thai opponent last March in Bangkok to claim the WBC Middle East Championship and a berth in the WBC World Rankings?
For his many fans the answer is yes.
This is a great door-opener for the hard-punching Jeny Boy Boca. Best of luck Camiguin Tiger!
