AGM Christian Gian Karlo Arca sweeps Tornelo online chess tourney

Manila, Philippines---Current youngest Arena Grandmaster (AGM) Christian Gian Karlo Arca of Panabo City, Davao, Del Norte asserted his supremacy by topping the online chess tournament dubbed as Tornelo Kabalen Kids and friends 5 minutes plus 3 seconds increment time control format last Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Tornelo platform.
The 11-year-old Arca, a grade VI pupil of Panabo Central Elementary School, finished with a perfect 13 points in this single round-robin format, organized by Fide Arbiter Edward Serrano.
Arca is on a roll these days as far as online chess wins are concerned.
Last October 6, he dominated the prestigious under 11 National Youth Chess Tournament and won third place in the Davao del Norte Online Chess Tournament last August 7.
Arca, is best remembered for his first-place finish in the Under-17 division of the 11th AFPI Chess Arena last May 18.
Arca's next assignment is the FIDE Online World Cadets & Youth Rapid Chess Tournaments 2020 Open Under 12 category on December 11, 12 and 13, 2020 at the Tornelo platform.-Marlon Bernardino-
