Unbeaten Argentina warrior girl Nazarena “Capricho” Romero claimed the interim WBA super bantamweight world title by defeating taller compatriot Julieta “La Zorrita” Cardozo vía 2nd round TKO Saturday night at the Club de Ajedrez in La Calera, Córdoba, Argentina. 🔥
The winner “Capricho” Romero began battle by quickly dominating the center of the ring, harassing her opponent without giving her a respite, although Cardozo weathered the 1st chapter storm with defensive maneuvers.
But in the 2nd stanza, the fighting lady from Recreo, Catamarca, went all out, harshly punishing the body of "La Zorrita," then crushingly attacking her with a barrage of blows that forced the third man Gerardo Poggi to stop the 98-seconds combat right at the moment when Cardozo was on her way to the canvas.
Now the new Interim queen Nazarena "Capricho" Romero (11-0, 5 KO’s), awaits for her unification rumble against WBA 122-pound regular champion Mayerlín “La Monita” Rivas (16-4-2, 10 KO’s) of Maracaibo, Venezuela.
In the co-feature, middleweight Jairo Rayman of Rio Negro defeated seasoned Sergio Sanders with a spectacular TKO in the 1st round.
The rest of the results are as follows:
Welterweight Williams Herrera Claimed a unanimous decision over Darío Baigorria.
Also in welterweights, Vicente Pérez knocked out Carlos Laciar in 3.
Super Bantamweight José Alberto Arias won a unanimous decision over to Gabriel Quiroga.
Alan Randazzo scored a majority decision over to William Cuevas in welterweights.
The show Saturday in Córdoba, Argentina was a promotion of Sampson Lewkowicz in association with Tello Box with the support of the Agencia de Deportes de Córdoba, the Municipality of La Calera, and Agustino Cueros, aired live on TyC Sports.
