In a total snoozer, former champ Daniel Jacobs (37-3, 30 KO's) of Brooklyn, New York, edged Puerto Rican veteran Gabriel Rosado (25-13-1, 14 KO's) for a split decision win in the super middleweight division tonight at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, live on DAZN.
The lackluster contest unfolded without knockdowns nor excitement, mainly in the middle of ring; both men trading at a rather boring pace unable to seriously stagger each other throughout the long twelve-round monotonous affair.
After the uneventful show, it's debatable who fans would like to see Jacobs up against next. Top men in the 168-pound class are Canelo Alvarez, Callum Smith (these two are fighting in three weeks in San Antonio Texas), Briton Billy Joe Sanders and unbeaten Americans David Benavidez and Caleb Plant. Would Jacobs, 33, have any good chance against any of them?
Jacobs answers questions after his lackluster performance against Rosado.
In the more exciting co-feature, Khazakstan’s Daniyar Yeleussinov (10-0, 6 KO’s) dropped and overpowered in two laps veteran former world titlist Julius Indongo (23-4, 12 KO’s) of Namibia to claim the IBF inter-continental welterweight belt, continuing his rapid ascent in the 147-pound division.
Daniyar Yeleussinov staggers and stops Julious Indongo tonight in Holywood, Florida.
Also, young American 160-pounder “White Chocolate” Nikita Ababiy (10-0, 6 KO's), a former amateur standout from Brooklyn, New York, outclassed fellow American Brandon Maddox (7-4-1, 5 KO's) for a wide 6-round unanimous decision win.
In a tough heavyweight clash, former amateur titlist, Mahammadrasul Majidov (3-0, 3 KO’s) of Azerbaijan ravaged and stopped in brutal fashion Puerto Rican Sahret Delgado (8-1, 7 KO’s) to continue his incursion in the big division.
The end for the war unfolded in round three as Majidov, 34, was landing and ravaging Delgado with a crushing, merciless attack, forcing the third man to intervened as the Puerto Rican Delgado was roughly beaten up, completely vulnerable, unable to defend himself.
Earlier on in the card, world-ranked lightweight 🇬🇭 Emmanuel Tahoe (32-1, 15 KO’s) of Ghana claimed a 10-chapter majority decision triumph over game American Mason Menard (36-5, 25 KO’s).
The show at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida, was promoted by Britain's Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing live on ESPN and DAZN.
