
CAPEX Open chess championship in Lichess, Dec.19

Manila---The Philippine Executive Chess Association, in coordination with the Upper Bicutan Chess Club Inc., is staging the 7th CAPEX Cargo Padala Express International Online Chess Open Chess Championship on December 19, 2020 at lichess.org.
This tournament uses a eleven-round Swiss system format competition with 3-minute time control format according to tournament director United States chess master Rodolfo "Jun" Panopio Jr., backed up by CAPEX Cargo Padala Express CEO Engr. Vergil J. Bargola and assisted by PECA president Dr. Fred Paez and NM Homer Cunanan.
The champion will get P5,000 purse while the second to sixth placers will receive P2,500, P1,500, P700, P500 and P300, respectively. Seventh to tenth placers will bring home P250 each, 11th to 15th placers will likewise to receive P200 each while category winners for the top executive, junior, kiddie and lady will receive cash prizes of P500 each.
Registration fee is P100 for the Filipino or local player while P150 for the foreigner player.-Marlon Bernardino-
