
Arca, Oncita face tough competition in kiddies online chess

Christian Gian Karlo Arca and Sumer Justine Oncita expect rough sailing in the Baby Uno Chess Challenge dubbed as Frontier Wheels 13 years old and Below Kiddies Online Tournament gets underway on November 7, 2020, Saturday, 11 am Manila Time at lichess.org.
The 3 minutes plus 2 seconds increment time control format with one and half duration of the game, which offers P3,400 total pot prize. The champion stands to get the lion’s share of the pot of P1,000 in the event sponsored by Arena International Master (AIM) Wagish Kumar Rai of Frontier Wheels.
Arca, a grade VI pupil of Panabo Central Elem School, Panabo City, Davao del Norte is fresh from winning the Under 11 National Youth Chess Tournament last October 6.
His biggest win in the 11th AFPI Chess Arena last May 18 dominating the Under 17 division.
"I will do my very best. Let's see on Saturday," said Arca, who was awarded the Arena Grandmaster title at 11, becoming one of the latest young AGM.
Oncita, meantime is in a rigid training under the watchful eye of his father/coach Ricky Oncita.
"I hope to perform well in this event," said the 9-year-old amiable Oncita.
