Nicaraguan WBA Súper Flyweight World Champion Román “Chocolatito” González (49-2 41, KOs) is more that ready to defend his 115-lbs belt against Mexican challenger Israel González (25-3, 11 KO’s) in the co-feature rumble set for this Friday, October 23, in Ciudad de México (Saturday morning in Asia).
The popular “Chocolatito” (49-2 41 KO’s) returned to the forefront of boxing after beating British world champ Khalid Yafai to conquer the WBA super flyweight World Title last February.
In that fight, the Nicaraguan star stopped the unbeaten Yafai in the 9th chapter in Dallas, Texas, to become super flyweight world champion for a 2nd time.
If “Chocolatito” is victorious on Friday, he’d absolutely want a unification clash against the tough, skilled warrior that he battled 8 years ago: Mexican nemesis Juan Francisco “Gallo” Estrada.
In fact, “El Gallo” Estrada is also seeing hot action in the same show, defending his WBC 115-lbs crown against former champ Carlos “Príncipe” Cuadras, a battle that is part 2 of their close encounter three years ago in Los Angeles.
Should both “Gallo” Estrada and “Chocolatito” emerge victorious on Friday, their clash for 2021 would become more than likely, and fans would welcome it.
The 3-world title show this Friday in México is promoted by Matchroom Boxing and Promociones Zanfer, broadcast live in Mexico on TV Azteca, in the USA and Latin America on ESPN, and worldwide on DAZN.
