Baloc wins 9th Jerick Pogi Bullet 2000 Arena online chess tourney

Manila---Unheralded Pherry James Baloc of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija, gathered 36 points and emerged as the winner of the 9th Jerick Pogi Bullet 2000 and below Arena online chess tournament at the lichess.org.

This weekly event organized by Jerick Concepcion Faeldonia, under Knighthood Chess Club Romblon with the support of España Chess Club Manila and I Love Chess Philippines of Rizal Province.

Zito P. Olaybal Jr.of Rizal province finished second with 31 points.

Rounding up to the top five (5) winners were Noel Sulit (third), Mark Del Rosario (fourth) and Jerry Morada Jr. (fifth). Category winners were Princess Nicole Atenta Ballete (top lady), Aron Pascual (top kiddie) and John Ernest Concepcion Faeldonia (top Romblomanon).

It shall be recalled that former Rizal Technological University standout Eduardo Campos Jr. won the 8th Jerick Pogi Bullet 2000 and below Arena online chess tournament.

He finished with 40 points in 14 games for a win rate of 86 percent and performance rating of 2190 to win the event that drew 35 players.

Meanwhile, the España Chess Club Manila Team settled for 5th Place in the 6th ARG Team Battle according to engineer Ernie Fetisan Faeldonia, who is also the secretray-general of WKA (World Kickboxing Association)-Philippines, the newest Kickboxing Organization.-Marlon Bernardino-
