GM Rosendo Balinas Chess Championship: All titled players will get an honorarium

Manila, Philippines---For the first time in Philippine chess history, all titled players will get an honorarium in an open tournament.
All chess masters, even just a candidate master, will get a piece of the pie in the Baby Uno Chess Challenge: GM and Atty. Rosendo Carreon Balinas, Jr. Death Anniversary Memorial Tournament on September 27 (Sunday) starting 11 a.m. Manila time at lichess.org.
According to Bayanihan Chess Club founder Arena Grandmaster Marlon Bernardino, a Grandmaster will get an honorarium of P1,000 each, P2,000 for the lone Woman Grandmaster, P500 each for International Master and Woman Intenational Master while P200 each for the rest of the master such as Fide Master, Woman Fide Master, National Master, Woman National Master, Candidate Master, Arena Grandmaster and to those player who got an elect master title.
Backed up by Bethesda, Maryland USA based frontliner Dr. Joe Balinas and engineer Antonio "Uncle Paps" Balinas in close cooperation with Mr. Fernan Donguines of Hybreed Apparel Collections, the 1-day competition will feature country's top pawnpushers in the 21 round Swiss-System, 2 minutes plus 2 seconds increment time control format free registration online tournament.
"We appreciate the participation of our titled players in our humble tournament," said Dr. Joe Balinas.
"Our chess masters are world-class athletes. Their participation in this event makes it a world-class tournament," added engineer Antonio "Uncle Paps" Balinas.
United States based Grandmasters Mark Paragua and Rogelio "Banjo" Barenilla Jr. and International Master Jan Emmanuel Garcia are among the favorites in the P50,000 total pot prize tournament, offers a whopping top purse of P10,000 to the champion, after placing first, second and third last September 6, 2020, celebrating the 79th birthday of GM Balinas.
Also set to fight for their place are US based GMs Julio Catalino Sadorra and Oliver Barbosa, Italy based GM Roland Salvador, GMs Rogelio "Joey" Antonio Jr., John Paul Gomez, Darwin Laylo and Jayson Gonzales and WGM Janelle Mae Frayna.
Others are IMs Joel Banawa, Ricardo De Guzman, Daniel Quizon, Angelo Young, Emmanuel Senador, Chito Garma, Barlo Nadera, Petronio Roca, Oliver Dimakiling, Kim Steven Yap, Ronald Dableo, Rolando Nolte,Joel Pimentel Jr., Paulo Bersamina and John Marvin Miciano.
Also playing are WIMs Cristine Mariano-Wågman, Bernadette Galas, Catherine Pereña Secopito, Marie Antoinette San Diego, Kylen Dela Serna Mordido and Jan Jodilyn Fronda.
Also seeing action are Sander Severino, Alekhine "Bbking" Nouri,Deniel Causo, Christopher Castellano, Randy Segarra, Nelson Villanueva, Jony Habla, Ivan Gil Biag, Rustum Tolentino, Rico Salimbagat, Dino Ballecer, Narquingden Reyes, Mari Joseph Logizesthai Turqueza, Aj Literatus, Jesse Noel Sales and WFMs Allaney Jia Doroy, Samantha Glo Cruz Revita and WFM Cherry Ann Mejia.
