CAPEX Cargo Padala Express International Online Chess Open tourney on

Manila---The CAPEX Cargo Padala Express International Online Open Chess Championship will be held at the lichess.org on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 10am Manila Time.

This tournament uses a eleven-round Swiss system format competition with 3-minute time control according to Philippine Executive Chess Association-PECA president Dr. Fred Paez.

"Proceeds of the event will be donated to Southville Elementary School in Cabuyao, Laguna for the Modular Learning," said Dr. Fred Paez, who is also the Assistant Executive Director of the National Chess Federation of the Philippines-NCFP for Southern Luzon.

The event is supported by CAPEX Cargo Padala Express CEO Engr. Vergil J. Bargola, in coordination with the Upper Bicutan Chess Club and Philippine Executive Chess Association-PECA. It is also organized by United States chess master Jun Panopio, National Master Homer Cunanan and Dr. Fred Paez.

The champion will get P4,000 purse while the second to fifth placers will receive P2,500, P1,000, P800 and P700, respectively. Sixth to tenth placers will bring home P500 each while category winners for the top executive, senior, junior, kiddie and lady will receive cash prizes as wellP500 each.

Registration fee is P50 for the Filipino or local player while P150 for the foreigner player.-Marlon Bernardino-
