GM Antonio wins Rosalinda Faeldonia online chess tournament

Grandmaster (GM) Rogelio "Joey" Antonio Jr. pocketed the top honors in the 5th España Chess Club (ECC) Online Bullet Chess Tournament dubbed as 68th birthday of Rosalinda Faeldonia, mother of España Chess Club President engineer Ernie Faeldonia held on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at the lichess.org.
The 13-time Phil. Open Champion GM Antonio collected 15 points on 14 wins and two draws to win the 16-round tournament. This is one of the qualifying event for ECC Grand Finals set on December.
Rounding up the top 10 winners were National Master (NM) Jasper Rom (2nd), National Master (NM) Julius Sinangote (3rd), Cyrus Nathaniel Calitisin (4th), engineer Joel Hicap (5th, Jeremy Marticio (6th), National Master (NM) Robert Arellano (7th), Jordaine Tupaz (8th), Jan Oriendo (9th) and National Master (NM) Gerardo "Gerry" Cabellon.
Adjudged category winners were National Master (NM) Almario Marlon Bernardino Jr. (Top 2100 below) , Joel Obogne (Top 2000 below), Epifanio Bueno Jr.(Top 1900 below), Felix Duterte (Top 1800 below), National Master (NM) Elwin Retanal (Lucky 16th) and Alberto Andales (Lucky 68th). The 6th edition of España Chess Club Bullet Chess Tournament Online gets underway on August 8, 2020.-Marlon Bernardino-
