Philboxing.com sends its best wishes to legendary fighter Roberto Duran, who has been diagnosed with Covid-19 in his native Panama. š
In his prime as lightweight world champion in the 1970's, āManos de Piedraā (āHands of Stoneā) was one of the world's most thrilling and exciting fighters.
Several media outlets have reported that Roberto felt unwell, was hospitalized and confirmed positive for Covid-19 Thursday evening.
Roberto's sons have reported in their social media that their famous dad is stable and calm despite the serious diagnosis.
Hugely popular while active, Hands of Stone made his pro boxing debut at a young age in Panama in 1968. His last fight was in the year 2000. He is widely regarded as the greatest lightweight in history. šŖ
Friendly, humble and devoted family man, Roberto Duran, 69, is a strong and brave man who has won tough battles in and out of the ring.
The Philboxing.com family prays for Roberto Duran's fast recovery. š
