There was a successful televised pro boxing event last Saturday in the land of "Chocolatito" González, Nicaragua. ☀️

The show — promoted by Nicaraguan former two-time world champion Rosendo "El Buffalo" Alvarez — was broadcast live in Latin America on ESPN Knockout. 🥊

These are images of how the action unfolded at the Alexis Arguello stadium in Nicaragua's capital city Managua. 😷

As of today (April 30), Nicaragua has recorded a total of only 14 cases of covid-19 coronavirus.

The impressive small number of cases is a result of Nicaragua's success containing the spread of the treacherous disease. 🙏

What measures are they taking? The friendly Central American nation with a population of nearly 7 million has completely closed its borders and enforced the use of face masks, social distancing and hygiene. 👍

Former pound for pound king Roman Gonzalez interviewed by ESPN Latino broadcaster.

The simple yet effective measures seems to be working wonders in keeping Nicaraguans safe amid the cruel ongoing global pandemic.

As a result, two more boxing events are scheduled for May in Nicaragua, 💥💥 both set to be aired again live in Latin America on ESPN Knockout. 🔥
