Pinoy chess wizard Butch Villavieja wins 2020 Alberta, Canada Rapid Chess Championship

Filipino chess wizard Butch Villavieja pocketed the top honors in the just concluded 2020 Alberta, Canada Rapid Chess Championship in Alberta, Canada.
The Canada based Villavieja collected six points in seven outings.
Villavieja, a former top player of the famous Rizal Chess Park in Luneta, Manila scored victories over April Wang in the first round, Jonathan Wu in the third round, Anand Chandra in the fourth round, Vassil Dimitrov in the fifth round, Hemant Srinivasan in the sixth round and Angelo Tolentino in the seventh and final round.
His only loss at the hands of Patrick Tolentino in the second round.
Other Filipino who dominated Canada chess circuit that includes Jelvis Calvelo, Zulfikar Sali, Belsar Valencia and Dr. Bong Perez.-Marlon Bernardino-
