75th Philippine National Chess Championships elims begin March 7

MANILA---Some of the country’s aspiring chess masters are set to compete in the eliminations of the 75th Philippine National Chess Championships (2nd leg) on March 7, 8, 14 and 15, 2020 at the SM Olongapo City Central in Olongapo City.

The tournament is open to all Filipino chess players who must be members of the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP).

The Fide Standard rating tournament is organized by the NCFP in cooperation with Olongapo City mayor Rolen C. Paulino Jr., Olongapo City Sports & Youth Development led by OIC David B. Bayarong, SM Central Olongapo City and Olongapo City Elementary School.

"One Big Step for your dream of becoming a National Master and have a great chance of having a FIDE Standard Rating (increase your FIDE Standard). This will surely help you to attain your dream of becoming a FIDE Titled Player." said NCFP Assistant Executive Director/International Arbiter Reden "Red" Cruz.
"Another chance to qualify for the semi-final and keep the National Master dream alive. 2nd Leg is in SM Olongapo City Central guys sali na!" said Fide National Arbiter Joel "Jev" Villanueva.
