Bernie Regalario and Eric "Billiard Cop" Bayhon joined fellow Wilde Blu stablemate Bastien Cyril Olanda, Sofhia Rosales and James Lim in the Last 64 of the Predator-Volturi 9-Ball Cup 2020 tournament at the AMF-Puyat Makati Cinema Square, Makati City last Sunday, March 1, 2020.

Regalario, the 2019 J and P 10-ball Cup Champion, hammered Romel Marmon, 8-4. The win was good enough for him to propel into the next round.

Actually Marmon won the 11th frame to close the match at 7-4 count in favor of Regalario. However, an empty break in the 12th frame of the former allowed Regalario to clean up the table.

"I hope to perform well in this event," said the 15-year- old Regalario, a grade 9 student of Doctor Arcadio Santos National High School in Parañaque City.

The 37-year-old policeman from Zamboanga City Bayhon, said the real fight begins in the Last 64.

"It’s good to be in,” he said following a 6-0 win over Atty. Eggie Buenviaje.

"This is my first time to qualify the MAPPA Tour since 2016," added Bayhon, Police Officer from Police Security and Protection Group, who was backed up by Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) in the World Police and Fire Games held in 2019 in Chengdu, China.

The Final 64 begins Saturday with the winners moving on to the closing stages of the world-class country's amateur tournament being played under world-class conditions. The winner here gets P40,000 plus Predator Roadline pool cue with 314-3 shaft plus Volturi Classic Brogue Cue Case plus Championship trophy.

"These are 64 of the best players,” said tournament director Patrick Clavel.

Organized by Makati Pool Players Association (MAPPA) headed by it's president Arvin John "Bambino" T. Arceo, the 9-ball tournament (February 29, March 1 and March 7), presented by Predator and Volturi, sponsored by world-renowned blogger Leslie "The AnitoKid" Mapugay, Puyat Sports, Wilde Blu, Dubshop, Aria Pool Things, Sunville Trading, Peri, Stanson, MLA Trading, Fury and bilyarista.com offers P250,000 in cash and prizes at stakes.

“A great mixture of pool enthusiasts young and old gathered together to Play our favorite sport,” said Makati Pool Players Association-MAPPA president Arvin John "Bambino" T. Arceo.

Earlier, 14-year-old Dartagnan Philippe Bonode, a grade 8 pupil of Southeastern College defeated Alvin Ingal, 6-2, to advance into the Last 64. -Marlon Bernardino-
