Senador, Villanueva to see action in Malaysia International Chess Open

International Master Emmanuel Senador and Fide Master Nelson Villanueva of the Philippines will see action in the 2nd Kulim Central UniKL Alumni International Chess Championship 2020 (Open Rapid event) on April 4 at the Kulim Central, Kulim Kedah, Malaysia.

The Iloilo City native Senador won the Asean Chess Academy Christmas Rapid Chess Championships that took place at the Upper Bukit Timah, Singapore last December 23, 2019.

The La Carlota City, Negros Occidental bet Villanueva, on the other hand, finished over-all 4th place in the leong @64 Rapid Chess Challenge 2020 held at the Ang Mo Kio Community Club, Singapore last January 19, 2020.

Meanwhile, Christian Paulite of Santa Maria, Bulacan pocketed the top honors in the PubXChess blitz event dubbed as King of the Hill @ Thunderbird Week 8 last February 23, 2020 in Singapore.

Paulite collected eight points on eight wins and one loss to win the nine-round tournament organized by Mr. Carleton Lim of PubXChess.

Ashton Chia of Singapore came second with 6.0 points followed by 3rd placer Candidate Master Tan Jun Hao of Singapore with 5.5 points. Another Filipino entry Arnold Paulite, settled for fourth with 5.0 points.-Marlon Bernardino-
