
Chess tournament in memory of Danilo Lopez set

A CHESS tournament in honor of one of the best players in Nueva Ecija province will be held on March 1, 2020 (Sunday) 10am at the lower ground, SM Megacenter in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija.
The Open tournament will be dubbed the Danilo Lopez Memorial Chess Tournament.
The tourney was organized by Cabanatuan City Chess Club headed by Dr. Gener S. Subia, Mr. Benjamin S. Bauto and Dr. Bernie C. Sadey.
The tournament will use a seven-round Swiss System format with a 20-minute time and five-second delay.
The Open champion will win P8,000 while second, third, fourth and fifth placers get P5,000, P3,000, P2,000 and P1,000, respectively. Sixth to tenth placers will each earn P500.
Special prizes worth P500 each for the category winners: top Senior, top Female, top High School, top College and top Nueva Ecija.
In the kiddies 13 year old and below, the champion will get the lion share of P1,500 while the second P600, third P400, fourth P300 and fifth to tenth placers will each earn P100.
