Marticio sibling shines in Olongapo Age Group chess

Sister and brother duo, Jersey and Jeremy Marticio, the pride of Cabuyao City mayor Atty. Rommel A. Gecolea and Philippine Executive Chess Association president Dr. Alfredo "Fred" Paez showcased their talents in the just ended 'Para Sa Community FIDE/NCFP Standard' rating grand finals age group chess championships held at SM City Olongapo Central in Olongapo City last January 31 to February 2, 2020.

Jersey, 12 years old, a grade 7 pupil of Pulo National High School, tallied eight points to rule the girls 14 and under division while Jeremy, a grade 8 student of Pulo National High School notch six points to went home the third place trophy in the Open group A class.

Other notable winners were ElliJah Gabriel Santiago (Boys 14 and under) and Keith Icon Ceprado (Open group A) in the three-day event jointly organized by Mr. Reden Cruz and Mr. Joel Villanueva in close cooperation with Olongapo City mayor Rolen C. PaulinoJr., Olongapo City Sports & Youth Development led by OIC David B. Bayarong, SM Central Olongapo City and Olongapo City Elementary School.-Marlon Bernardino-
