Omayao and Sugita.
Fighters successfully made weight for Bebot Elorde's Night of Champions XVIII, the exciting 15-fight pro boxing event set fire up the stage today Saturday, August 3, at the Elorde Sports Complex in Sucat, Para?aque, Metro Manila.
In the main event, Filipino Crison "Cowboy" Omayao (24-19-5, 8 KO's) of Bukidnon and tough samurai warrior Daisuke Sugita (杉田大祐) of Tokyo, Japan, made identical weight of 122 pounds ahead of their battle for the vacant WBA ASIA SOUTH Super Bantamweight belt and a bay in the 122-pound world rankings.
Will the more experienced 26-year-old Filipino successfully counter-attack the furious offensive of the strong Daisuke Sugita (4-1, 3 KO's), bombing the Japanese hard down to the canvas? Or will it be the visiting Sugita -- a police officer in the Tokyo Police Department -- the one to brutalize the Filipino, rocking him mercilessly?
Daisuke Sugita.
During his amateur years, Sugita fought more than 400 times, becoming a two-division Japanese Amateur National Champion at bantamweight and lightweights. You have to be there to witness this battle. Entrance is free.
Nakagawa and Medura.
In the co-feature, Zamboangue?o slugger Alvin Medura (8-4, 7 KO's) and the more accomplished Japanese Mugicha Nakagawa 武田勇太 (24-6-2, 14 ko'S) of Tokyo both made 122 lbs for the vacant WBC Asia Continental Super Bantam title.
The clash is a difficult ten-chapter mission for both warriors. More rough for Alvin Medura who comes from back to back loses in the land of Fighting Harada.
This is without a doubt the golden chance for Medura to get back with flying colors into the winning circle. Will he make it? Not an easy mission. But not impossible one.
Promoter Gabriel "Bebot" Elorde has given to his boxers very tough assignments against dangerous Japanese combatants, making fans wonder if Omayao and Medura will pull it off. You don't want to miss this show.
