Gentri lass wins silver in ASEAN chess tilt

Arnel Beltran Del Rosario, chairman/ president of Del Rosario Christian Institute Foundation Inc. congratulated a nine-year-old General Trias chess wizard for bringing honor to the school and to the country in the field of sports.
The girl, Bonjoure Fille Suyamin, a grade 4 pupil of Del Rosario Christian Institute in General Trias City, Cavite, won three silver medals in the girls under 10 division of the 9-day 20th ASEAN Age Group Chess Championships 2019.
?Congratulations and thank you Bonjoure Fille (Suyamin) and the other members of the Philippine team for bringing honor and pride to our country,? Del Rosario said.
Bonjoure Fille on her part: ?I have the dedication and discipline and that is why I want to become the best athlete,? added Bonjoure Fille, a consistent Honor Student and achievers since kinder 1 up to present.
The chess tourney, which was held at the Golden Mandalay Hotel and Hotel Hazel in Mandalay City, Myanmar, started on June 10 and ended on Tuesday, June 18.
With the victory, Bonjoure Fille's performance boosted the nation?s morale, said Philippine coach Ederwin Estavillo, the president of the General Trias City Chess Club.
?Once again our flag has been raised in this foreign land after knowing that our Filipino kababayan Bonjoure Fille Suyamin won three silver medal in the girls under 10 division in the just concluded 20th ASEAN Age Group Chess Championships 2019 which was held at the Golden Mandalay Hotel and Hotel Hazel in Mandalay City, Myanmar,? he said.
It shall be recalled that Bonjoure Fille also won gold in the under-10 division at the Thailand Pattaya Youth Chess Championship 2018 held in Bay Beach Resort Pattaya, Banglamung, Chin Buried in Pattaya, Thailand last October 20 to 24, 2018.
Bonjoure Fille hopes to carry the momentum of her historic success in her next tournament in the upcoming Thailand International Age-Group Chess Championship 2019 to be held on July 7 to 18 at the Le Bali Resort and Spa in Pattaya, Thailand.
She is being supported by Del Rosario Christian Institute Foundation Inc.chairman/ president Arnel Beltran Del Rosario, local government of General Trias City, Cavite led by Mayor Antonio ?Ony? Ferrer, Congressman Luis ?Jon-jon? Ferrer, Ms. Baby Lyn Kempiz of City Mayor?s Office of General Trias City and General Trias City Chess Club.
Del Rosario is expected to present a certificate of recognition to Bonjoure Fille on Monday for excelling in international sports competition.-Marlon Bernardino-
