2nd Meralco Youth Rapid Chess tourney on

ALL roads lead to Ortigas as it plays hosts to the Meralco Youth Rapid Chess Tournament which fires off June 9, Sunday at the Multi-Purpose hall Ortigas Avenue, Pasig City.

Categories entered are the Under 20 division and the Under 14 division in this one-day event, sanctioned by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines and organized by Fide Master Leonardo Carlos of Meralco Chess Club.

Cash prizes are also being offered to the winners, with the Under 20 division champion receiving P5,000 plus a trophy. The second to fifth placers will pocket P4,000 plus a trophy, P3,000 plus a trophy,P2,000 plus a medal and P1,000 plus a medal respectively.

6th to 10th placers will bring home P500 each plus medals.
The Under 14 division champion, one the other hand gets P3,000 plus a trophy while second and third placers will receive P2,000 and P1,000 plus trophies. 4th to 5th placers will take home P700 and P500 plus medals.

6th to 10th placers gets P300 each plus medals.
