
1st Avellano-Canimo Invitational Non-Master Chess Tournament start April 28 in Tayabas City

Everything is set for the much awaited 1st Avellano-Canimo Invitational Non-Master Chess Tournament on April 28 at the Grace Land Hotel in Tayabas City, Quezon.
The champion will pocket P7,000 plus trophy, while the second to fourth placers will take home P3,500 plus medal, P1,000 plus medal and P500 plus medal, respectively.
Fifth to 10th placers will get P300 each plus medals.
Special prizes for the category winners, Under 14, Under 10, senior and lady.
Among the early entries in the one day rapid tournament (20 minutes plus five seconds delay mode) backed up by Engr. Erin Be A. Avellano, Eizelle A. Canimo, Ays Canimo, Kampoy Canimo and Meldin Canimo are Janglie Lita of Gumaca, Jason Par of Atimonan, Rigor Pedernal of Lucena City, Allan Ose?a of Lipa City, Batangas and Michael Concio of Los Ba?os, Laguna.
"Mark your calendar chess enthusiasts and make the best move ever in this battle of the squares." said tournament organizer Radz A. Dionido Jr.
"We do this to promote chess in the grass-roots level and discover future chess talents," added tournament organizer Radz A. Dionido Jr.
Chief Arbiter is Byron Gabrentina Villar assisted by pairing specialist and arbiter Israel "Ice" Landicho.
