
WFM Racasa joint 6th in Asian Youth Sri Lanka blitz chess tourney

Woman Fide Master (WFM) Antonella Berthe "Tonelle" Murillo Racasa finished in a tie for 6th to 9th places in the Asian Youth Chess Championships - 2019 Under 12 Girls, Blitz competition held recently at the Citrus Hotel in Waskaduwa, Sri Lanka.
The 11-years-old Racasa, whose stint was backed by Hermie Esguerra of Herma group of companies, past president of Rotary Club of Pasig Eng'r Rogelio Lim of RSP Lim Construction (Boni Tower), Rotarian Noel Go and sportsman Reli de Leon, joined Tsogdelger Anudari and Woman Candidate Master (WCM) Gankhulug Khaliunaa of Mongolia and Woman Candidate Master (WCM) Nguyen Linh Dan of Vietnam, with 5 points each.
Racasa, the multi-titled campaigner from Mandaluyong City and the top player of Homeschool Global, finished strongly by winning her last round matches against Thai Ngoc Tuong Minh of Vietnam.
Woman Candidate Master (WCM) Alua Nurmanova of Kazakhstan won the title with a superior quotient over fellow 6 pointers Woman Candidate Master (WCM) Ton Nu Quynh Duong of Vietnam.
The only Filipino participant placed over-all 7th place after the tie break points was applied over 56 participants
Among the participating countrys' are Philippines, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Vietnam, India, Thailand, Mongolia, New Zealand, Iran, Syria, Hongkong, Chinese-Taipei, Bangladesh, United Arab Emirates, and host Sri Lanka.
According to her father/coach Robert Racasa, an International Memory Champion, the next International Tournament of Antonella Berthe is the upcoming 2019 ASEAN Age Group Chess Championship to be held in Mandalay City, Myanmar from June 9 to 19. -Marlon Bernardino-
