ALPHALAND NATIONAL EXECUTIVE CHESSFEST BEGINS

THE COUNTRY'S up and coming executive chess players will test each other's mettle in the third leg of the 2019 Alphaland (PECA) National Executives Grand Prix Chess Championships gets underway on March 16, 2019, Saturday at the Activity Hall, Second Floor Alphaland Makati Place in Malugay Street, Makati City.

The one-day event will feature two division tournament, Open division (2000 and above rating) and Challenger's division (1999 and below rating).

"The 3rd leg of the much-ballyhooed 2019 Alphaland (PECA) National Executives Grand Prix Chess Championships will push through at its home base at Alphaland Makati Place on March 16 (Saturday) expecting a bountiful participation among Metro Manila Executives trying to take advantage of the situation that it will be held at a nearer venue. Only 4 legs are scheduled in Metro Manila (including this 3rd leg) while 9 more legs will take place around the country as far as Zamboanga City in this biggest gathering of the country's chess Executives during PECA's Season 2 under the leadership of new president Dr. Jenny Mayor," said PECA Screening Committee Chairman Martin "Binky" Gaticales who is the topnotcher in the grand prix standings of the Challenger's division (1999 and below rating).

According to Philippine Executive Chess Association (PECA) president Dr. Jenny Mayor, the champion in the Open division will win P7,000 and a trophy, while the other prizes will be P5,000 and a medal for second place, P3,000 and a medal for third, P2,000 and a medal for fourth and P1,500 and a medal for fifth.

Special prizes for the Top 2200 and below, Top 2100 and Below and Top Senior worth P1,000 each plus medals.

The champion in the Challenger's division (1999 and below rating) will likewise to receive P6,000 and a trophy.
Second to Fifth placers will get P3,000, P2,000, P1,500 and P1,000 each plus medals.

Category winners in the Challenger's division (1999 and below rating) will get P1,000 each plus medals for the Top 1800 and below, Top Senior and Top Unrated.

Meanwhile, the the 4th leg will be held on March 31, 2019 at the Ayala Malls, Capitol Central, Gatuslao St.in Bacolod City Negros Occidental thru realtor Ernie Abanco and under the guidance of PECA Vice President for the Visayas NM Wilfredo Neri.
