District 3820 Celebrates Rotary International's 114th Anniversary with a Fun Run for a Cause

More than 35,000 Rotary clubs and its members worldwide will celebrate their organization?s founding day on February 23, 2019 with various activities.

District Governor Jose ?Boy? Garcia of District 3820 will lead the day-long activities with 118 Rotary clubs from eleven (11) provinces namely: Laguna, Batangas, Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, Catandauanes, Masbate, Marinduque and Oriental Mindoro. They will celebrate their anniversary starting with an early morning Fun Run for a Cause and in the afternoon onwards with a Silent Auction Sale, Variety Show and culminating with a Concert for a Cause featuring two well known local bands (Joey G and 70?s Superband) all at the City of Santa Rosa Multi-Purpose Complex. The Concert for a Cause is open to the general public.

The Fun Run for a Cause will be held at Greenfield Paseo in the City of Santa Rosa. It will have three categories: 10K, 5K and 3K.. Generous cash prizes await the top three male and female finishers of the three categories. Registration fees will cover singlet, race bibs and certificate of participation. The Fun Run is expected to attract about 1,000 runners and is open to Rotarians and the general public. The proceeds of the fun run will be donated to Rotary?s main advocacy End Polio Now, the commitment to eradicate forever the polio disease second to smallpox. The 114th Rotary International anniversary celebration by the district is hosted by the Rotary Cub of Nuvali.-Marlon Bernardino-
