
FM Elorta is Chess Circle Club-All Masters Rapid chess champion

FIDE Master David Elorta emerged the winner of the one-day tough Chess Circle Club-All Masters Rapid chess tournament which concluded last Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the second floor Activity Hall of Alphaland Makati Place in Malugay Street, Makati City.
Elorta, a habitue of Tarrasch Knight Chess Club in Guadalupe Mall, collected 6.0 points to win the seven-round tournament going home with the top purse of P10,000 and ?Eugene Torre Trophy? in the National Chess Federation of the Philippines sanctioned tournament organized by Chess Circle Club International founding head/ president Leonardo "Nards" Jimenez and vice president Exy Perez in close cooperation with Asia's First Grandmaster Eugene Torre, Lea Bautista and Alphaland Corporation which attracted 26 country's chess masters.
Grandmaster Darwin Laylo, Fide Master Nelson "Elo" Mariano III and International Master Angelo Young occupied second, third and fourth places with 5.0 points each.
International Master Oliver Dimakiling led the huge group of 4.0 pointers that includes National Master Noel dela Cruz, National Master Edgardo Garma, National Master Edmundo Gatus, National Master Giovanni Mejia, Woman International Master Marie Antoinette San Diego, Fide Master Narquingden Reyes and Fide Master Randy Segarra.
San Diego along with Woman Fide Master Allaney Gia Doroy and Woman Fide Master Samantha Glo Revita won the top three lady award while Fide Master Adrian Ros Pacis got the top senior plum.
It shall be recalled that Elorta also won the 2nd Canon Carlsen Kasparov Chess Club's Weekly Open Rapid Chess Tournament (Open division) dubbed as Imus Open Rapid Chess Championship at the City Mall along Aguinaldo Highway in Imus, Cavite last October 21, 2018.
Last Wednesday, December 19, 2018, Elorta also topped the Christmas Open Blitz Chess Tournament dubbed as "Pamaskong Alay ng Ajedrez Blitz Fun Palaro at Pagtipon-tipon" held at the Philippine Academy For Chess Excellence (PACE) number 56 Mindanao Avenue, Project 6, Quezon City.-Marlon Bernardino-
