PH whiz kid Gio Troy Ventura gains share of lead in Thailand Pattaya Youth Chess Championship 2018

FILIPINO whiz kid Gio Troy Ventura beat Thai Theewasu Siladaeng to share the lead in the sixth round of the Thailand Pattaya Youth Chess Championship 2018 on Monday at the Bay Beach Resort Pattaya, Banglamung, Chin Buried, Thailand.

The Dasmari?as City, Cavite bet Ventura hiked his total to 5.5 points in the Under 12 division, the same output of Arena International Master (AIM) Bhattacherjee Aayush of India, who downed Bonjoure Fille Suyamin of General Trias City, Cavite.
Earl Siegfrid Sta. Maria of General Trias City, Cavite subdued Pariyakul Chuensuwonkul of Thailand to claim the solo third with 5 points.

Kai Saipetch of Thailand and Josh Edmar Osorio Castro of General Trias City, Cavite share fourth to fifth places with 4.5 points apiece.

Saipetch bested Yeong Keng Brendan Kong of Singapore while Castro trounced Pawit Cooper Techamuanvivit of Thailand.
Suyamin, meantime was stuck at 4 points and dropped into a tie for sixth to 14th places in the company of Sai Han Thiha of Myanmar, Chuensuwonkul and Theewasu Siladaeng of Thailand, Kaung Mon Thar of Myanmar, Patawee Wangthumboon of Thailand, Relghie Columna, Carlhynne Mae Maneja and Geraldine Mae Camarines of the Philippines.

PH coach Ederwin Estavillo, who is also the president of the General Trias City Chess Club is very confident that the Philippine youth team will perform well in this event.
"All of us have prepared really hard. I hope this time we can try our level best to even better it. I wish the full team all the best." said PH coach Estavillo.

In the Under 8 category, Clark Jemuel Cabatian of General Trias City, Cavite failed to sustain his momentum losing to Rafael Gueta of Thailand. Despite the setback, Cabatian still on top with 5 points, full point ahead with Gueta, Vihaan Anup Kumar of Australia, Gantulga Ariun-Erdene of Mongolia and Sasinat Tawankanjana of Thailand with 4 points each.

Head of Delegation is Ms. Baby Lyn Kempiz of City Mayor?s Office of General Trias, Cavite.

They are supported by local government of General Trias City, Cavite led by Mayor Antonio ?Ony? Ferrer and Congressman Luis ?Jon-jon? Ferrer.
