WIM Cristine Rose Mariano-Wagman to play in invitational closed Spain international chessfest

WOMAN International Master Cristine Rose Mariano-W?gman is set to compete in the Festival Juan Martinez Sola 2018 Liga International Chess Championships, an Invitational, Round-Robin event which begins on November 1 to 5, 2018 in Almeria, Spain.

Mariano-W?gman, who holds the record of being the youngest-ever National Champion at the age of 14, will be pitted against WFM Liudmila Kolotilina (2226) of Spain, WIM Aleksandra Lach (2205) of Poland, WIM Manuela Mader (2200) of Spain, WFM Ana Redondo Benavente (2055) of Spain, WFM Beatriz Garcia Porlan (2076) of Spain, Rebeca Jimenez Fernandez (1917) of Spain, Zofia Frej (1964) of Poland and WFM Mireya Represa Perez (2151) of Spain.

Mariano-W?gman who is also the youngest ever National Master at the age of 14 after winning the National Championships.
?This field is very competitive.? said Mariano-W?gman whose stint here is being supported by ASSU (Akademiska Schack Spellare Ume? ), Scandic Syd Hotel Umea led by Ms. Cathryn and Ms. Camilia.

Mariano-W?gman who is also former mainstay of Rockaden Umea Schack Klubb is the 1st female chessplayer of the AFP-PNP under Philippine Airforce.

I?m ready for the challenge,? added Mariano-W?gman, a five-time National champion, the first Pinay who got an Arena Grandmaster (AGM) title thru online World Chess Federation and first Filipina FIDE instructor.

It shall be recalled that the Umea, Sweden based Mariano-W?gman, a former head coach of Trinity University of Asia, wound up joint second in the Pia Cramling's Ladies Open 30 minutes Rapid plus 10 seconds increment chess tournament last September 2, 2018 held at the Scandic Foresta Hotel, Stockholm in Sweden. -Marlon Bernardino-
