
ALPHALAND NATIONAL EXECUTIVE CHESSFEST BEGINS

COUNTRY'S up and coming chess players will test each other's mettle in the sixth leg of the 2018 Alphaland National Executive Chess Championship gets underway on Saturday at the Activity Hall, Second Floor Alphaland Makati Place in Malugay Street, Makati City.
According to Philippine Executive Chess Association (PECA) president Atty. Cliburn Anthony A. Orbe, the champion will win P10,000, while the other prizes will be P7,000 for second place, P5,000 for third, P3,000 for fourth and P2,000 for fifth.
The category winners for the Best Senior Player, Best 2000 and below, Best 1900 and below and Best Unrated will each receive P2,000.
Youngest Executive, Best Dressed Executive and Best New Comer didn't go empty handed with a consolation prizes of medal for their efforts.
A kiddies tournament is also gets going on Saturday followed by Alphaland Open Chess Championship on Sunday at the same venue.
