Biado, Chua head for 10-ball Jogja Open in Indonesia

MANILA, Philippines---Filipino pool wizards Carlo Biado and Johann Chua said they are ready and confident for the 10-ball Jogja Open on March 3 to 11, 2018 at the Rama Billiard Jogyakarta in Sewandanan 1, Pakualam Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
?I hope to do well in this event,? said Biado, formally received the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Athlete of the Year plum during its awards night on Tuesday at the historic Manila Hotel.

"Congratulation PSA Athlete of the Year Carlo Biado. You made the country proud," said Marlon "Marvelous" Manalo, a confidante of Biado, a former International Billiards and Snooker champion.
It shall be recalled that Biado made history when he became the new world 9-ball champion in Doha, Qatar last December.
He became the first Filipino to win the title in 7 years, joining the likes of Efren ?Bata? Reyes, Francisco ?Django? Bustamante, Alex ?The Lion? Pagulayan and Ronato ?Volcano? Alcano.
Meanwhile, Orcollo and Pagulayan will be seeing in action when prestigious 2018 World Pool Masters gets underway on Saturday at the Tercentenary Sports Hall of the Victoria Stadium in Gibraltar.
Because of their impressive showings in the past years including in world championships, Orcollo and Pagulayan gained entry into the tourney along with 14 other top players in the world.
The Bislig, Surigao del Sur bet Orcollo is a former World Pool Masters champion having won the 2010 edition of the tournament apart from winning the World 8-Ball Championship in 2011 and the World Cup of Pool in 2013.
The Cabagan, Isabela native Pagulayan has been a regular in the world meet. He bagged the 2008 World Pool Masters crown in Las Vegas, Nevada as well as the World 9-Ball Championship title in 2004 in Taipei, Taiwan.
A total of $80,000 cash prize is at stake with the champion getting the lion share of $20,000.
