RECARTE TIAUSON JOINS STRONG VIETNAM CHESS TOURNEY

AFTER a runner-up finish in the just ended Pampanga Chess Challenge II Open division, Recarte Tiauson, a Technical Support Representative of RingCentral is vying for the 8th HDBANK Cup International Open Chess Tournament on March 9 to 16, 2018 at the Army Hotel in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Backed up by Senator Emmanuel "Manny" Pacquiao and RingCentral Director Joey Llanko, the Talisay, Negros Occidental native Tiauson will be pitted against some of the best woodpushers in the world and the Asian region.

"I will do my very best in the upcoming 8th HDBANK Cup International Open Chess Tournament," said Tiauson, a habitue of Tarrasch Knight Chess Club in Guadalupe Complex, Makati.
Last Sunday (February 18, 2018), Tiauson settled overall second place in the Pampanga Chess Challenge II Open division was held at the Don Honorio Ventura Technological State University (DHVTSU) sa Bacolor, Pampanga.

The former University of St. La Salle top player Tiauson collected six points out five wins and two draws in seven outings.

It shall be recalled that Tiauson won the collegiate men's category in the 10th Raymundo R. Dizon Age Group chess tournament on October 23-24, 2008 at the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod City.
