ROBERTO "PINOY SUPERMAN" GOMEZ RULES DERBY CITY CLASSIC 10-BALL IN INDIANA, USA

MANILA, Philippines---Filipino cue master Roberto "Pinoy Superman" Gomez ruled the Derby City Classic 10-Ball Pool Championship held at the Horseshoe Southern Indiana in Elizabeth, Indiana in US on Tuesday.

The Zamboanga City native Gomez defeated Feder Gorst of Venezuela, 11-10, in the finals.

Gomez pocketed the $16,000 top purse while Gorst got the $8,000 runner-up prize.

Gomez made it to the finals by beating Ronato Alcano of the Philippines, 11-10, Joshua Filler of Germany, 11-6, in the early rounds and Mika Immonen of Finland, 11-10, in the semifinals.

Gomez' long-time friend, Marlon "Marvelous" Manalo, top honcho of Barangay Malamig in Mandaluyong City, congratulated him for winning the title.
