GRANDMASTER Rogelio "Joey" Antonio Jr., the country?s hottest titled player, will be seeking one more International Tournament before the year ends.

The 13-time Philippine Open champion Antonio toppled Italian International Master Spartaco Sarno in the 11th and final round after 51 moves of Caro-kann-French defense transposition skirmish to bring home the runner-up honors in the 27th World Senior Chess Championship 2017 (50+ and 65+ Open-men and women) in Acqui Terme, Italy on Sunday.

The 55-years-old Quezon City resident Antonio is scheduled to play in the Jolimark Hongkong International Open Chess Championship 2017 from December 23 to 27 at the Kung Lee College on Tai Hang Drive, Hong Kong.

Antonio, who hails from Calapan Oriental, Mindoro is also scheduled to seek an audience with Philippines Sports Commission (PSC) commissioner Charles Raymond Maxey on Thursday at two pm.
Joining Antonio are the officials of the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) headed by it's chairman/president Cong. Prospero "Butch" Pichay Jr., executive director Red Dumuk, director Atty. Cliburn Anthony A. Orbe and NCFP Mindanao coordinator James Infiesto.
