Onggocan 111 Lbs, Pantilgan 110 Lbs for IBF Youth Title in Calamba, Laguna, Today

IBF Flyweight Youth Champion Robert "El Rapido" Onggocan of Dapitan tipped the scale at 111 lbs., while hard-hitting Cebu-based challenger Marjun M. Pantilgan (14-4, 11 KO's) made 110 lbs ahead of their title clash today Friday June 23 at Calamba Sports Center in Calamba City, Laguna.

The rumble will be the first title defense for the 21 year-old Robert Onggocan (8-1, 4 KO's) who captured his IBF belt by knocking out Indonesia Iwan Zoda in Ngabang, Indonesia.

The weigh-in ceremony took place yesterday (June 22) at the Main Office of the GAB in Legaspi Tower 200, Makati, Metro Manila.

In attendance during the weigh-in were GAB Commissioner for Administrative and Finance Matthew P. Gaston, GAB Boxing Chief Dioscoro B. Bautista, Cebu Head Coach Christopher "Pingping" Tepora and Bi?an City Promoter Dino Olivetti among others.

In other action fights, Venson Delopere (5-1-3, 2 KO's) of Camerines Sur will fight Warren "Braveheart" Mambuanag (10-7-2, 3 KO's) of Agusan del Norte in the Super Featherweight division.

Also, 22 year-old Mark Rey "Machine Gun" Taday (7-2, 1 4 KO's) of Maguindanao will battle "The Lizard" Vincent Bautista (5-7-4, 1 KO) of Bohol in the Jr. Flyweight division.

Four more exciting bouts complete the card.

However, the scheduled fight of Former IBF Flyweight World Champion Amnat Ruenroeng was cancelled due to an injury suffered by the former titlist, according to card's matchmaker Art P. Monis of Hardstone Monis Boxing Gym.

The IBF Flyweight Youth Title between Robert Onggocan and challenger Marjun Pantilgan Friday June 23 at Calamba Sports Center in Calamba City, Laguna, is a production of Dino Olivetti Boxing Promotions.
