Raymond Tabugon stayed on his feet after ten intense rounds of battle against former unified WBA/WBO flyweight world champion Juan Francisco "Gallo" Estrada at the Francisco Leon Garcia Baseball Stadium in his hometown in Puerto Penasco, Sonora, Mexico.

Estrada now sporting a record of 34-2, 24 KOs hopes to make an impressive showing in his super flyweight debut as he controlled Tabugon whose record slid to 18-6-1, 8 KOs. The bout was obviously one-sided as all three judges has scored it 100-90, giving all ten rounds to the Mexican.

The win makes the fans look up to the rematch of Estrada against world pound-for-pound number one fighter Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez, one of two boxers who defeated him, the other one being former IBF superflyweight champion Juan Carlos Sanchez, Jr.

Tabugon's consolation was his gallant effort against the much experienced more durable Mexican. Estrada as of the present is considered as Mexico's top pound-for-pound fighter by most experts.

A knockdown was imminent in the third round as Tabugon absorbed Estrada's combinations. In the following rounds the Mexican intensified his offensive, but the GenSan native fortified his defense and stood on his ground.

Estrada now has defeated a number of Filipino boxers, including Tabugon, Brian Viloria, Ardin Diale, Rommel Asenjo, Joebert Alvarez, Richie Mepranum and Milan Melindo.
