THREE title-fights in the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Asia Pacific will be held on June 30 in M'lang, North Cotabato as part of the thanks-giving celebration by the Pi?ol brothers from their recent landslide victories in the recent May 14 elections.

The triple WBO regional championships is promoted by Socrates "Soc" Pi?ol, the youngest brother of outgoing Gov. Manny Pi?ol (now vice-governor-elect), Congressman-elect Bernardo ?Jun? Pi?ol Jr., re-elected Magpet Mayor Efren Pi?ol and and M'lang Mayor-elect Lito Pi?ol.

?It's one way of thanking our beloved people of North Cotabato for their support in the recent elections,? Pi?ol said.

Philippine No. 2 super flyweight contender Glenn ?The Rock? Porras, RP No. 14 junior featherweight Glenn ?Rapidfire? Gonzales and RP No. 15 junior flyweight Edrin ?The Sting? Dapudong are facing separate rivals in the triple main-event.

Porras, a former PBF bantamweight champion, will take on Indonesian Marangin Marbun for the vacant WBO Asia Pacific Youth Interim bantamweight title.

Gonzales will face the dangerous Boydo Simanjutak, also from Indonesia for the WBO Asia Pacific Youth Interim featherweight crown, while Dapudong will trade punches with Sakmanee Sithchalcaw of Thailand for the WBO Asia Pacific Youth minimumweight title.

Nine other pairs will also be featured in the undercard of the
Fortstone Sports Promotions.

?This is so far the biggest boxing promotion for this year here in Mindanao,? said Jimmy Mata, officer-in-charge for the region of the Games and Amusements Board (GAB).

GAB chairman Eric Buhain has been invited to grace the event. Also giving support are the officials of the Mindanao Professional Boxing Association (Minproba) led by its president Victor A. Quiambao.
